A motorist on U.S. 2 in Evergreen called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies after noticing a vehicle headed north with kids inside but no passenger door.

Dogs reportedly were chasing kids on Third Street South in Martin City and on Demersville Road. The owner of a pit bull was cited when animal wardens responded to the second call.

A man allegedly causing problems at a Bigfork convenience store was arrested on a warrant for violating his probation.

Deputies were given conflicting stories about a case of alleged elder abuse on Shady Lane.

An intoxicated 49-year-old man fell and cut his head near a neighborhood on Big Mountain but refused transport to the hospital. He later was arrested for trespassing.

Deputies responded to domestic violence calls in Lakeside, Evergreen and on Willow Glen Drive. The first report, made by a neighbor, turned out to be unfounded, and deputies separated the men and woman arguing in the latter two disturbances.

A rock slide was reported early Tuesday morning on U.S. 2 about 10 miles east of Columbia Falls.

Deputies counseled the parties involved in a custody dispute and alleged restraining order violation in the Coram area.

A house was egged on Klondyke Loop.

Two shotguns were stolen from a vehicle parked on Cooperative Way. One of the windows had been broken out.

A man, apparently intoxicated, was lying on the grass off Columbia Falls Stage Road flipping off passing cars. He was told to go home.

Deputies received 141 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

A man parked behind a Seventh Street West resident's vehicle and then walked to a neighbor's house, where he banged on the door. Kalispell police responded and arrested the man for possession of alcohol.

Officers responded twice to Nicklaus Drive - once because a woman was receiving harassing phone calls, and once because a vehicle kept driving past a resident's house.

Two suitcases were stolen from a car outside a South Main Street bar. A digital camera was stolen at Woodland Park.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of DUI while investigating a harassment complaint on First Avenue East.

A man was spotted sleeping in the field near a school on Second Street West and South Meridian Road.

Someone trashed a rental property on First Avenue East by discharging a fire extinguisher inside.

Officers received 71 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of DUI during a traffic stop outside an apartment complex on Lupfer Avenue.

Officers received 35 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

A runaway juvenile from Helena turned himself into Columbia Falls police late Monday night.

An 18-year-old boy was arrested for shoplifting and possession of alcohol after he allegedly tried to steal beer from a grocery store on U.S. 2.

A vehicle collided with a building on U.S. 2, but no one was injured.

Officers received 19 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department extinguished a brush and tree fire in a field off Woodland Park Drive, containing the blaze in about 30 minutes.

The Kalispell Fire Department was paged out to reports of a burning blue Ford Bronco on U.S. 93 North, but the vehicle was nowhere in sight when firefighters arrived.

Six- to seven-foot flames were spotted coming out of a garage in the 500 block of Fifth Street West. Firefighters with the Kalispell Fire Department knocked down the blaze in about 15 minutes.

Firefighters with the Creston Fire Department were asked to examine a wood-burning stove on Ranchetts Road that the owner thought was burning too hot. Everything was in order.

The Evergreen Fire Department extinguished a grass fire on Ash Road after flames spread from a burning pile of brush.

The Somers Fire Department responded to Rollins to fight a grass fire on Big Lodge Road.
