An 80-pound safe containing prescription painkillers was stolen from a residence on Foothill Road. The pills were the only items missing, according to Flathead County sheriff's deputies. Somewhat ironically, the 54-year-old victim of the burglary was arrested on a warrant for selling drugs.

A loose dog on 15th Street East North outside Columbia Falls bit a woman and then her dog. The loose dog's owner was ticketed.

Stray cattle were spotted on Smith Lake Road, prompting a response from animal wardens and several deputies.

A man twice showed up at a residence on First Avenue South in Hungry Horse, allegedly to pick a fight with one of the residents. He left before deputies arrived, both times.

Neighbors noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from a residence on Anderson Lane and called authorities, who determined the complaint was unfounded.

A woman arrested on suspicion of DUI and probation violation threatened to harm herself. Detention officers put her in the jail's padded cell.

A man reportedly sleeps in his car on a Coram resident's property almost every night after leaving the adjacent bar. The resident wanted deputies to tell the man to stop.

Deputies were unable to find a man pretending to be a pizza delivery boy in the Foy's Lake area.

Deputies arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of partner assault and writing bad checks after he allegedly hit his wife. The disturbance occurred in Kalispell, but deputies arrested the man at an Evergreen casino.

A man drinking at a Bigfork bar became upset when his spouse began paying attention to the bartender. When the couple got back to their motel, an altercation ensued. He says she attacked him in his sleep. She says he came after her.

Items were stolen from a garage on South Cedar Drive.

Deputies and firefighters were unable to find the site of an explosion that reportedly occurred between Montana 40 and Dillon Road.

Deputies received 141 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

A passer-by called Kalispell police early Friday morning after noticing some people sleeping in a car outside a movie theater on U.S. 93 North. The people, who apparently were actually just cinema enthusiasts, agreed to move along until a more appropriate time.

Syringes were found all over the ground off Corporate Drive. Officers suspect people used the area to throw a party.

Someone rifled through a vehicle on Bing Court, making off with an iPod.

A deer got stuck in a chain-link fence on Greenbriar Drive.

Youths being loud and playing their music at a level unacceptable to the neighbors were asked to take the get-together somewhere else.

A woman on Woodland Avenue called police after someone rang her doorbell. She wanted the area checked for intruders.

An allegedly intoxicated woman drove, with a child in the car, from a West Idaho grocery store to a convenience store west of town, where she reportedly was detained.

Officers are investigating an internal theft at a West Idaho Street business.

Officers received 67 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 25-year-old woman on suspicion of driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop on U.S. 93 south of downtown.

Officers received 30 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 42-year-old man on Talbot Road on a county warrant for writing bad checks.

A 9-year-old boy is accused of stealing from a store on Nucleus Avenue.

Officers received 33 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Somers Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Somers Stage Road.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department extinguished a fire allegedly started by some youths on Sweebee Lane.

The Whitefish Fire Department, West Valley Fire Department, and Kalispell Fire Department extinguished a structure fire Friday afternoon at a residence on Meadows Road. A man reportedly returned home to find the house full of smoke.
