Harold M. Penrod, 94

Harold M. Penrod was born April 2, 1914, in Kalispell. He died March 21, 2009, in lndio, Calif., from complications of Parkinson's disease.

The Penrod family was well known in Kalispell in the "old days' from having the Kalispell Harness and Saddlery on First Avenue West.

Harold went to Central School, then on to work for the Forest Service in Glacier National Park, and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

His love of cars landed him a job at the Studebaker dealer in Kalispell until he moved to Southern California, where he continued his career in the auto industry until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Stebbins Penrod; his children, Connie Madott, Barbara Penrod, and Victor Penrod; his stepchildren; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was a kind, gentle man who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at a future date at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
