Hammond hits in game-winner for Eureka

EUREKA - Carly Hammond's single brought home Mariah Newell with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Eureka Lady Lions earned a 4-3 Western 7B softball victory Thursday night over visiting Thompson Falls.

Hammond was 2-for-3 on the night with two RBIs.

The Blue Hawks had scored two runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 3-all.

The Lions (2-4) play host to Loyola at 2 p.m. Saturday.
