The people renting a home on Alpine Court outside Whitefish stopped paying the landlord, and allegedly have failed to make good on a promise to settle upon receiving their tax refund. When the landlord went out to turn off the utilities, he found three people living there - none of whom was the original renter. The subletters, however, apparently still are paying rent to the other occupants. Flathead County sheriff's deputies are investigating.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Bigfork Ambulance responded to Fire Terrace after a 64-year-old woman fainted. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
