HELENA - They're learning.

The Glacier Wolfpack softball team got to deal with a little more adversity than most Saturday - the team bus broke down on the way to Helena.

The breakdown put the Wolfpack into Helena late.

"We just had to get off the bus and play," said Wolfpack head coach Joel Bemis.

Glacier wound up losing to Helena High, 6-1, and Helena Capital, 6-4.

Bemis wasn't making excuses.

"The (Bengals' jumped on us early. But I thought we battled pretty well," he said.

The Wolfpack had five hits against Helena High.

"The second game we picked it up and did a better job," Bemis said.

"We hung right in there. We started hitting the ball better as the game went on and we tried to make a game of it," he said.

Capital led Glacier 6-0 after two innings, but the Wolfpack rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh.

"It was good to see our girls battle. We hung in there. We started hitting the ball better as the game went on and we tried to make a game out of it," the coach said.

Seven Wolfpack batters got hits in the second game. Abby Connolly was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
