Investigators believe the red, oily substance found along the west shore of Lake Blaine Sunday is latex paint. An observer reported that the slick was 150 yards long, but when officials arrived it was down to 40 yards. Investigators suspect the slick contained less than 5 gallons of the water-soluble paint.

A woman walking her dog down Murray Ridge Road told Flathead County Sheriff's deputies someone on a mountain bike ran into her and her pet, yelled at her about it, and then vandalized her vehicle.

Deputies responded to a disturbance between a man and woman on Ridgewood Drive. He allegedly was breaking things, and she wanted him out of the house.

A man in a pickup truck stopped on Middle Road and asked two young girls if they would help him look for his dog.

The back of a building on Stoner Loop Road was spraypainted. In other acts of vandalism, two tires on a car parked off Ashley Lake Road were slashed and windows on equipment parked in a field off Farm To Market Road were smashed.

An Evergreen woman feuding with her ex-husband claims he is telling lies to their children.

Deputies settled a disturbance between a man and woman on Parliament Drive in Evergreen. She claims he wouldn't let her take her baby. The warring couple was told to settle it in court.

Two kids on motorbikes were riding up and down a private runway north of Somers.

An Olney man told deputies his intoxicated neighbor was pounding on his door.

An inmate taunting another inmate at the Flathead County Detention Center was moved to another cell.

Deputies are investigating a Coram man's complaint that someone sold him a four-wheeler that the person didn't actually own.

An iPod was reported stolen on Whitefish Stage Road.

Kalispell police

Three men were hanging around in Depot Park. One allegedly urinated in public then threatened to beat the man who confronted him about it. Kalispell police responded.

Neighborhood kids fighting in the backyard of a Fourth Street East residence were gone when officers arrived.

Male and female goats got loose on 12th Avenue West.

Two young girls attempting to cross U.S. 93 in south Kalispell were gone when officers arrived to offer them assistance.

A Ponderosa Street woman thought she heard someone on the porch and wanted police to come check it out.

An intoxicated man allegedly tipped over a motorcycle on First Avenue West.

Money was stolen from a room at an East Idaho Street motel.

A man called to report that a woman was keeping illegal firearms under her bed. She called later to tell officers the man was lying.

Patio furniture taken from a yard on Sylvan Drive showed up at a Zimmerman Drive residence. The furniture was returned and no one wanted to press charges.

Officers received 60 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of drug possession during a traffic stop on River Lakes Parkway.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on Flathead County drug warrants at his home on Wisconsin Avenue.

A 52-year-old man was arrested for negligent arson and disorderly conduct after authorities responded to reports of a fire on Jennings Avenue.

Officers received 38 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police responded to Railroad Street and Nucleus Avenue after a man ran into a utility pole. He declined medical attention.

Officers received 16 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Sixth Avenue East North after a car hit a tree. The driver declined transport to the hospital.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to the high school gymnasium to treat someone with a head injury. The patient was taken to North Valley Hospital.

A kite came down across power lines on Conn Road and caught fire. The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a grass fire Sunday afternoon on Fourth Street East. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and cleared the scene in a little more than an hour.

The Creston Fire Department extinguished a grass fire on Foothill Road and the Evergreen Fire Department extinguished a grass fire on South Mountain View Drive.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a crash on Farm To Market Road, but no one was seriously injured.
