Dixie Lee Juelfs Black
Dixie Lee Black of Manson, Wash., passed away on April 7, 2009, in Wenatchee, Wash.
She was born Nov. 10, 1949, in Hot Springs, S.D., to Bernard and Evelyn Juelfs. She was raised in Montana and spent summers with her grandparents in the Black Hills.
Adventure called and she moved to Alaska in 1975. During her time in Alaska she became an Alaska State trooper, along with other jobs and adventures.
She met Rodger Black and they were married on Sept. 3, 1989, in Coldfoot, Alaska. They moved to Manson in 1992 where she resided until her death.
She was a member of the Lake Chelan Boating Club and cherished her time spent at the cabin in Lucerne.
She is survived by her husband, Rodger; sisters, Judy Williams, Janet Juelfs and Nancy Burtsfield, all of Kalispell; one brother, Bernie Juelfs, of Buffalo, Wyo.; and one sister-in-law, Patti Mackey, of Alaska; numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; one brother, Richard Juelfs; and one sister, Susan Juelfs.
A memorial service was held on April 11 at The Lake Chelan Boating Club.
