Area fire departments
Area fire departments responded to dozens of reports of trees and power lines downed Tuesday afternoon by strong winds.
Felled trees were reported across the Flathead Valley, including Eckelberry Drive, Elk Park Road, Fourth Avenue West North in Columbia Falls, U.S. 93 near Whitefish, and Woodland Road.
Downed power lines - most often snagged by falling trees or tree limbs - were reported on Montana 206, Wisconsin Avenue, Jensen Road, Karrow Avenue, Fourth Avenue West North in Columbia Falls, and Foothill Road.
At least one power line downed near the Swan Highway sparked a grass fire soon extinguished by the Ferndale Fire Department.
A large tree fell onto a two-story home on Murray Avenue in Whitefish, but no one was injured and firefighters stayed until the tree was removed. Gusty winds blew the sign off an inn near Bad Rock Canyon.
Flathead County sheriff
A man told Flathead County Sheriff's deputies that he thought the mud being kicked up by construction trucks on Trumble Creek Road was endangering wildlife.
A man on Hollow Lane in Bigfork suspects his daughter's ex-boyfriend burglarized their house.
Deputies responded two times to a home on U.S. 93 near Whitefish after an unwanted man twice showed up, allegedly threatened the resident, and generally caused a ruckus.
Reports of a disturbance in the Shady Lane area turned out to be unfounded. A man was just lecturing his daughter.

Kalispell police
Kalispell police arrested a 31-year-old woman for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Third Avenue West.
A Second Avenue East woman reported receiving threats from her ex-husband.
A man pounding his head on glass in the City Court building was stopped and then arrested for trespassing.
Officers were called to Fifth Avenue East after a 12-year-old boy's parents were unable to control him. They requested officers take their son to jail.
A man told officers someone took things from his North Meridian Road storage facility and then changed the lock.
Five shots were heard in quick succession on Harlequin Court, but responding officers were unable to find anything amiss.
A woman at an East Idaho Street grocery store told officers she was being stalked. Turns out she wasn't, and officers counseled both parties involved.

Alarms
The Badrock Fire Department and Three Rivers EMS responded to U.S. 2 after a car hit a deer.
The Evergreen Fire Department responded to West Evergreen Drive after a vehicle caught fire.
A 17-year-old boy who passed out at Columbia Falls High School was taken to the hospital. Three Rivers EMS responded.
The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on Seventh Street East.
During a dispute over a cat, an East Oregon Street resident yelled at her neighbor. He reportedly called the sheriff's office crying hysterically over the incident.
