Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a stolen car from a Columbia Falls residence Thursday. The 1996 white Bonneville was in the driveway with the keys in the ignition when the owner and his son noticed two young white males get in it and drive away.

The owner gave chase but lost them. The car was later found with considerable damage on Bierney Creek Road. Hospitals were checked but no suspects were found.

A vicious dog was reported on Gunsite Loop. The caller said a pitbull tried to bite him. Deputies left a note at the residence.

Another caller complained about vicious dogs on West Hemler. The bad dogs were described as a German shepherd and a black and white sheepdog cross.

Deputies investigated criminal mischief on U.S. Highway 2 East. A man and his son got into a fight, resulting in the son kicking the father out of a rented cabin. The man called the landlord, threatening to drive his car through the cabin.

Deputies found damage to windows and doors on the cabin, apparently from a crowbar.

Suspicious activity was reported on McDermott Lane where a person was attempting to take pictures of two young girls in a vehicle.

Assaults were reported on Shady Lane. A fight developed between a landlord, 71, and tenant. On the second call, the tenant claimed the elderly landlord punched him in the face.

A deputy was flagged down on Bernard Road in Evergreen about an assault. The victim refused to come out and speak to the deputy.

A man claimed to have fallen on his pocket knife when he called for an ambulance in Whitefish.

Graffiti was left on a trailer on U.S. 2 East.

A person was reported missing in Spotted Bear. It turned out the person had just decided to stay an extra night without informing anyone.

A dog attacked another dog on Trillium Way. When deputies arrived, the owners were working out a solution.

Chairs were stolen out of a camper on Ezy Drive in Evergreen.

Deputies investigated a tire slashing on U.S. 2 East. The victim has a suspect.

A caller reported a dog locked in a vehicle with the windows up at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Security at the resort investigated the complaint.

A man claimed that his ex-wife had stolen his truck on U.S. 93 South. It turned out ownership of the vehicle was in dispute.

A person inquired to find out if a vicious dog could be listed as a violent offender.

Kalispell police

Kalispell Police were called to 18th Street and U.S. 93 South where a man chasing a small brown dog was causing a traffic jam. The problem was solved when the man caught the dog.

A bike rider claimed a verbal assault when a passing motorist made a threat.

One or possibly two motorists hit a black lab on U.S. 93 by the triangle building, severely breaking its leg, then left the scene. A kind-hearted citizen picked up the dog and took it to a local veterinary clinic.

Drivers at Second Avenue East and Woodland Avenue both claimed the right to go at the same time at a stop sign and ran into each other Friday morning. No one was injured.

A man screaming at various intervals in a local hotel was not under assault. He had a sleeping disorder and subsequently took his medication, helping the other guests get back to sleep.

Two men and a woman were fighting at an apartment on Hawthorn Avenue. The caller said both men were attempting to drag the woman out of the apartment. Police separated the combatants and counseled them.

Officers investigated a report of shots fired at Third and Main early Friday by four males with an Airsoft AK47 and Airsoft Pistol. They were seen going into an apartment complex then disappeared.

Police counseled two young people suspected of breaking into vehicles with the bar they were carrying in Woodland Park.

A solitaire diamond ring was reported stolen from a tanning business.

A resident on Liberty Street complained that another person grabbed him by the throat and threw him to the ground.

A man complained that a person pulled into his driveway and spun the tires, pelting his vehicles with gravel. Police counseled the man and the neighbor accused of the misdeed.

A young man was arrested for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after kicking in a door and smashing a vehicle with a stick on Appleway Drive.

Officers came to the assistance of a store owner on East Idaho who claimed an ex-employee was threatening her and loading things from the store into her car. The two were counseled.

Kalispell Police logged 105 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police responded to Third Ave. West where two brothers were fighting. The incident remains under investigation.

A 19-year-old man turned himself in on an outstanding warrant Thursday evening.

Columbia Falls Police logged 21 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish Police arrested a 77-year-old man from Whitefish for driving with a suspended drivers license.

Whitefish Police logged 40 calls between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Friday.
