The developer of the proposed Riverpark of Whitefish subdivision northwest of Whitefish will try once again to garner support for the project at tonight's Flathead County Planning Board meeting.

The board last year denied preliminary plat approval for the subdivision planned on 66.4 acres seven miles northwest of Whitefish on the west side of U.S. 93.

Since then, AVKO LLC has revamped the density from 22 to 15 lots and proposes to use "no build zones' to minimize impacts to the environment and wildlife. An eagle nest is among the wildlife concerns.

AVKO also proposes additional groundwater monitoring and an amended conceptual stormwater management plan that would manage stormwater runoff on each lot and in roadside swales.

The board also will consider a request for approval of Kauffman Estates, a six-lot single-family subdivision on 31.7 acres at 1224 Lake Blaine Road.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. today at the Earl Bennett Building, 1035 First Ave. W. in Kalispell.
