Passersby called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies Tuesday evening to deal with a drunk guy on a horse near the intersection of Montana 83 and Lee Road.

A 16-year-old Farm To Market Road girl text-messaged her parents early Wednesday morning to say she was on her way home from a baby-sitting job, but never arrived. After calling one of her friends, the girl's parents discovered she was actually at a party near Whitefish.

Deputies settled an altercation near Whitefish in which a man allegedly threatened his wife because she may have taken drugs from his dresser.

Red paint was splashed all over the sidewalk and grass outside a Lakeside business.

A man driving down Steel Bridge Road told authorities he was being followed by a large man. Gestures had been exchanged after one passed the other. Turns out, however, that the man who called deputies was losing shingles from the load on his trailer and the other driver just wanted to let him know.

Several cabins in the North Ashley Lake Road area have been broken into recently.

A man camping on an island in the Hungry Horse Reservoir called authorities after his boat sank Wednesday afternoon. He was on the island at the time.

A horse was reported stolen near Marion. In a separate incident, a car hit an elk, also in Marion.

Deputies received 138 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police responded to Sixth Avenue East after an argument between sisters got heated enough to alarm the neighbors.

People threatening to fight each other outside a Seventh Avenue West home were gone when officers arrived.

Three large bags of hand tools worth thousands of dollars were reported stolen at a home-improvement store on U.S. 93 North.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, after officers responded to a disturbance on Ninth Avenue West.

Officers told a man and woman drinking beer and making obscene gestures outside a store on Second Avenue West to move along.

Someone outside the police department got upset and began smashing the lobby phone against the wall.

A boy on a bicycle suffered minor injuries after colliding with a car at the intersection of Main and Fourth streets.

No one was around at a South Meridian Road residence after police responded to reports of a man beating his dog in the yard.

Officers received 81 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 25-year-old woman for driving with a suspended license, running a stop sign and violating child safety restraint laws during a traffic stop on Colorado Avenue.

Someone called police to complain about foul language on the karaoke machine at a Central Avenue bar.

Officers received 48 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 43-year-old woman on an outstanding city warrant for contempt of court during a traffic stop on U.S. 2.

A boy on Crescent Drive crashed his bike into a parked car, causing moderate damage.

Officers received 25 calls between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Main and Idaho streets after a power line went down.

The Kalispell Fire Department also was called to deal with a fuel leak near Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The South Kalispell and Smith Valley fire departments were paged to Orchard Ridge Road after a camper and nearby tree caught fire.

The Whitefish Fire Department extinguished a fire that started on the ground floor of an Armory Road home. No one was injured.
