Erin Slack, 32
Erin Slack, 32, died Aug. 11, 2009, in a vehicular accident. She was born May 9, 1977, to Bob and Robyn Clayton in Polson. They and her sister Heather moved from there to Arizona, then to Kalispell, where she graduated from Flathead High School.
If ever any truth were to be found in the words, "There is more happiness in giving than receiving" it was found in Erin. At a young age she gave her life to her Creator Jehovah and was baptized in 1990, and upon graduation, she became a full-time minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. That career enabled her to give the Bible truths that so enriched her life. This giving is what brought her the most happiness and is what she was most well-known for.
Three years later she gave herself to Aaron Slack as his wife. At the wedding they were warmly introduced to all as a "new pair of Slacks."
Erin's generous soul was shared with all, be it through the scarves and jewelry she made, the gingersnaps she baked, or the heartfelt cards she sent for the sole reason that she was thinking of them.
Truly it can be said of Erin or "Chick," as her parents affectionately called her, she worked with her hands, smiled with her eyes and hugged with her heart.
The Bible states, "Moreover, do not forget the doing of good and the sharing of things with others, for with such sacrifices God is well-pleased." Erin never forgot so we are confident that God is well-pleased with her sacrifices.
"The Bible's promise of a resurrection to a Paradise Earth is a certainty for our very dearest Erin."
Because of Erin's open heart we find it impossible to list all family and friends. But they, along with her husband, Aaron; mother, Robyn, and Wayne Dombrowski; father, Robert, and Leah Clayton; siblings, Heather and Shawn Altenburg, and Brianna and Cody Gardipy; grandmother, Donna Clayton; father-in-law, Doug Slack; uncle, Cecil, and Dianna Bailey, "anxiously await to see her in the paradise," along with her grandfather, James Clayton; grandmother, Inez Burnett; and cousin, Niche Cislo.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1115 South Reserve, in Missoula.
