Mildred W. Crain, 91

Mildred W. Crain quietly passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at her home near Bigfork, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Mildred Wolvin on Oct. 29, 1917, in Burlington, N.J.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1936 and attended nursing school and received her nursing certification in 1939.

Mildred married Franklin Conrad Crain on April 25, 1942, in Burlington. They had four children, a daughter, Pamela, and three sons, Jeff "Randy," Tim and Eric "Buck."

As an Air Force family they lived in many locations across the U.S. and internationally. Mildred and Franklin retired to the Bigfork area in 1975 where she was active in the local chapter of PEO for many years. Mildred was also a member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Franklin Crain; and their infant daughter, Pamela.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff, Tim and Eric; and daughters-in-law, Peggy and JoAnn; and grandchildren, Raina, Stefanie, Millie and Dalton.

As per her wishes, no services will be held.

She also requested that for anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution, they may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
