Eureka burger takes second in grill-off
The Daily Inter Lake
The Eureka Burger formerly known as the Bubba Burger was edged out of first place in the Ultimate Hometown Grill Off by a pulled-pork sandwich from Mississippi.
The final grill episode of the summer on Live! with Regis and Kelly aired Friday morning. James Monroe of Eureka, who owns The Cutting Board in Eureka, competed against Brad Orrison from The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint in Ocean Springs, Miss. At the studio in New York City, four judges smacked their lips and covered their fingers in sauce before declaring a winner.
Monroe first appeared on the syndicated television show on July 3 with his now famous burger, which features a mesquite-fired patty topped with spicy Cajun sausage, jumbo shrimp, cheddar cheese and chipotle sauce.
