Stolen vehicle found in Dillon

Kalispell police managed to track down a stolen vehicle in Dillon Saturday afternoon. The Kalispell owner told police of the suspected theft, and a statewide notice was issued. An hour later, the man driving the vehicle was stopped by Dillon police, who arrested him on other charges. Two others were with him.

A fired employee was banned from a U.S. 93 North restaurant after he returned, allegedly to threaten his former boss. He will be allowed to return only once, to pick up his final paycheck.

The neighbor took the pickup, grandma picked up the children, and mom was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant after a two-vehicle crash on West Idaho Saturday afternoon.

Two calls to Cooper Lane finally ended with the man who had pitched a tent under the backyard trees being told to move along.

Repeat offenders were reported by the coffee drive-through attendant about the woman who habitually hauls children without seatbelts, and by a person who said a man repeatedly comes to look for his daughter, even though the resident knows of no such daughter.

A customer Saturday evening was upset that a convenience store clerk had overfilled his aging RV's propane tank and said it could cause a blow-up. The store reported threats from the customer. Sunday just before noon, the business reported the building was egged overnight.

A 6-year-old boy had last been seen three hours earlier at the fairgrounds' free stage, a caller told police. The child eventually was found, after having walked to the family's vehicle.

No horses were found on Legends Field, despite a report that a woman was riding there.

Loud voices and banging noises from a parked car, and a woman walking along Merganser Drive were the clues reported by someone who thought the woman was in trouble, but police found no suspect or victim.

Northwest Montana Fair had its share of police action Saturday night. First somebody reportedly rifled through a parked vehicle and took personal papers. Later, officers called for medical help after a fight by the Kamikaze ride; somebody went to the hospital with a two-week-old knee injury and another was arrested for probation violation, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Then it was harassment reported there. Finally, another male was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The source of the blood-curdling scream about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Fifth Avenue East remains a mystery.

A verbal family disturbance on Rimrock Court ended with the unhappy parties separated for the night.

Tomatoes were lobbed at a vehicle on South Main again Saturday night.

Vandals used spray paint to depict a private body part on fences and a garage door.

Food was thrown all over a Second Avenue West restaurant overnight Saturday; the containers and a gas can remained on the scene. The owner has a suspect.

Police saw someone inside a Fourth Street West house after a probation and parole officer asked for help. A man was arrested for probation violation.

The laptop and power cord left on a kitchen table near an unlocked sliding door overnight were gone in the morning.

Parents of the small child riding an ATV up and down Parkway near the ball fields Sunday promised to comply with the ban on such activity in the future.

A wheelchair-bound panhandler and a brown van moved along after police answered a complaint to a U.S. 93 North home supply store Sunday afternoon.

Police logged 67 calls for help from 3:30 p.m. Saturday to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Flathead County sheriff's deputies went to the same address on Cedar Drive twice for a disturbance and fight Saturday night. The second time, they arrested two men for disorderly conduct. Sunday afternoon, in yet another call from the same address, someone said another person was threatening him.

A woman was arrested on a charge of shoplifting at an Evergreen box store.

His ex-wife and son left for Libby and had been gone several days without getting in touch, so the man called the sheriff's office.

Deputies logged 176 calls for help from 3:30 p.m. Saturday to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Whitefish police handled a call late Saturday after the sheriff's office received a report that a man was chasing a screaming woman on Colorado Avenue. They ran into an upstairs condominium. Police said they were deciding whether to stay or ride their bicycles to a local hotel. They chose the latter.

Columbia Falls police arrested a 53-year-old man for partner or family member assault after a disturbance between two adults on Scenic Drive Saturday evening.

Canyon QRU and Three Rivers EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash on the road two miles below Hungry Horse Dam Saturday evening. Four people were hurt, and two were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Whitefish Fire Department was called to Bear Trail, where brush being loaded into a truck reportedly caught fire Sunday.
