Whitefish CARE's annual Back to School Bash is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Smith Field Complex.

The free event includes a children's carnival with games and activities for young children.

Student groups and clubs from Muldown Elementary, Whitefish Middle School and Whitefish High School, as well as from church youth groups and child-oriented local businesses, will have information and sign-up sheets. New this year is a bouncy house.

There will be a dunk tank, giving students and community members a chance to soak school administrators and law enforcement officers. Whitefish Mountain Resort will have an aerial bungee trainer and will sell season passes. Northern Lights Laser Tag will host a large game and provide other entertainment.

Parents who would like to get involved in planning activities at their child's school throughout the year may talk to Whitefish CARE at the event. CARE promotes drug- and alcohol-free events for students.

Last year's Back to School Bash drew a crowd of more than 2,500 people.

The event is open to students and parents in the Whitefish School District.
