CORVALLIS - John Woody ran for three touchdowns as Columbia Falls opened the Class A football season Friday night with a 27-7 Class A nonconference victory over Stevensville.
Woody's scores were from 17, 16 and 2 yards.
Caleb Johnson's 11-yard touchdown scamper put Columbia Falls on top 6-0 in the opening quarter.
It was the head coaching debut for Columbia Falls' Bill Coleman.
Columbia Falls hosts Hamilton on Friday.

POLSON - J.D. Unden had touchdown runs of 1, 60 and 66 yards as Frenchtown crushed Polson in the Class A opener for both schools.
Unden finished with 220 yards on 15 carries.
Frenchtown scored 14 points in the first, second and third quarters.
The Boncs rolled up 330 yards rushing on 37 attempts, to 69 yards on 28 carries for Polson.
The Pirates threw five interceptions and had no yards passing.
Polson continues with nonleague play on Friday at Corvallis.
