Rocks across roadway upset neighbors

Flathead County sheriff

Rocks that were placed across a roadway by a Haywire Gulch resident angered some neighbors, who contacted Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies. Deputies tried to settle the dispute.

Authorities responded to rollover crashes Tuesday on Boone Road and Montana 82, but no one was seriously injured.

Someone off Shelter Valley Drive called deputies to report their identity had been stolen.

A suspicious vehicle on property off Farm to Market Road turned out to belong there. Workers were maintaining an easement.

Deputies were called to settle a disturbance late Monday at a Marion taxidermy shop.

A Columbia Falls-area woman reported receiving harassing text and phone messages from a man, a violation of her restraining order.

Deputies received 89 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

A passer-by reported seeing an approximately 10-year-old child driving a car down Fifth Avenue East, with an infant passenger. Kalispell police responded to the area, but did not find the suspect vehicle.

People fighting on Liberty Street settled their disagreement before officers arrived. A neighbor had called because it sounded like one of the people involved had taken a tumble down a flight of stairs.

A Third Avenue West man called to complain that his ex-wife is allegedly telling their daughters — who are living with him following a divorce — false and negative things.

Somewhere around $50 was reported stolen from the cash register of a North Main Street pizza restaurant.

A car reported stolen on Denver Avenue was found about 60 yards off the roadway, down an embankment.

Two kids were spotted going into an empty house for sale on Second Street East and pulling down the shades. They apparently left before police arrived.

Officers received 57 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstructing officers after responding to reports of a fight in the parking lot of a U.S. 93 bowling alley. The other participant had left prior to officers’ arrival. The man police arrested also tried to flee, but was caught.

Officers received 23 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 22 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to reports of smoke on the back porch of a U.S. 2 residence.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to First Avenue East after a resident reported the strong odor of natural gas both inside and outside of the home.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a store on U.S. 2 after an elderly, disoriented woman outside couldn’t find her car. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The ALERT helicopter and Marion Fire Department were paged out to a Gopher Lane school after a student hit his head.
