Landlord takes possession of man's car

An Elk Park Road man told Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies that his landlord locked up his car while he was in jail on suspicion of DUI and now won’t return the vehicle.

A Dern Draw resident heard something early Thursday outside her window, suspected a prowler, and called authorities — who were unable to find anything suspicious.

Dogs chased traffic on Star Meadows Road. Horses got loose on Montana 35 and Montana 83.  

A Columbia Falls-area woman called authorities to report her trailer was sinking.

The 1989 Honda Accord reported stolen from an Evergreen car dealership appears to have been found at a second Evergreen car dealership.

A Silver Leaf Drive resident asked deputies to remove another man, who reportedly was causing a problem, from his house. He was given a ride to a nearby motel.

Pills were reported stolen Thursday from a home on Third Street South in Martin City.

Deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. 93 and Montana 82 after a man was spotted near the road waving a bike tire around.

A Whitefish Stage Road woman scared off a man with a flashlight who was rummaging through her car.

Kalispell police

An East California Street woman wanted to speak with Kalispell police about the people hanging out in her shed without her permission.

Three people trying to sell food stamps at a First Avenue East grocery store were asked to leave.

A fanny pack with cash and credit cards inside was taken from a car outside a South Main Street coffee shop.

Gas reportedly was siphoned Thursday night from a car outside an East Idaho Street casino.

A man who got disruptive at a First Avenue West bar returned after being kicked out twice.

Officers responding to an East Idaho Street motel arrested a 45-year-old man and a 43-year-old man on suspicion of trespassing.

A South Woodland Avenue man reported receiving threats from his 21-year-old son, who lives with him.

The ex-boyfriend of a Stratford Drive woman allegedly refused to return the keys to her car and storage unit.

Officers received 69 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police received 29 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 11 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Bigfork Fire Department and Bigfork Ambulance were paged out to a crash on Foothill Road. A man hit a tree trying to avoid a deer, but was not seriously injured.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a Montana 35 bar after smoke, possibly from an electrical fire, was observed coming from some vents. Firefighters, however, discovered no flames when they arrived.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Third Avenue West North after a car started on fire. The flames appeared to be out when firefighters arrived.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a crash Friday afternoon on First Avenue West and 10th Street.
