Winifred Penny Mulcahy, 71
Winifred Penny Mulcahy passed peacefully from this life on Nov. 23, 2009, at her home in Columbia Falls, with her husband and her daughters by her side. Penny Mulcahy came into this world on May 23, 1938, the youngest of five, to Robert McWilliams and Winifred Kent Proudfit, in Los Angeles. Prior to her retirement, Penny was a Blue Line operator at Hughes Aircraft for many years. In 1976 she met the love of her life, Jerome Mulcahy, and on May 28, 1983, they were married while living in California. During a vacation to Montana they fell in love again, this time with the countryside and the mountains, and they bought property in Columbia Falls. In 1987, they moved to Montana, and their life continued to be one filled with joy and the happiness of having an extended loving family, wonderful friends, and an adventurous outlook on life. Penny loved visiting the local casinos, where she had many friends. In the spring she loved her garden, and in the winter she loved the snow. She loved to read, and to watch the Angels on TV. Her positive outlook and the unconditional love she gave were an inspiration to others, and she will be greatly missed by many. She cherished the many friends she made in Montana, and had special affection for her friends and neighbors on Martini Lane. Penny is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; and her children, Sandra Dee Danielson, Michael Fernandez and Nancy, and Monique Colver and Andrew; her stepchildren, Katherine Paet, Lisa Mulcahy, Cindy Gardner, Jerry Jr. Jay and Jennifer; her grandchildren, Kristin Tesoro, Heather Fernandez, Robert Andy Plunger and Mary, Levi Danielson, Patricia McWilliams, Trentin McWilliams, Nicole Henn, Ryan Stillinger, Brandon Gardner, Ryan Gardner, Matthew Paet, Elisa Paet and Noel Paet; and her sister, Rita Cadwell. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. She was preceded by her parents; and siblings, Richard McWilliams, Robert McWilliams Jr., and Elizabeth. Arrangements are being handled by Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls and Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, Calif. The family suggests remembrances to the Kalispell Cancer Center.
