George L. Bolta, 79

George L. Bolta, a Navy veteran and retired railroad engineer, died at his son s home in Boise, Idaho, of natural causes, on Dec. 13, 2009. George was born to George and Anna Bolta on July 19, 1930. He attended school in Havre and Gonzaga Prep School. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he went to work for the Great Northern Railroad and worked for them for 40 years as a fireman/engineer, until his retirement in 1992. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 38 years; by his children, Cynthia Kaleva of Choteau, Debra VanDe Reit of Fairfield, Mary Junck of Havre, George Bolta of Mill Creek, Wash., and Elena Jarman of Havre; and by Mary s children, Kathleen Thompson of Golden Valley, Minn., Carol McPherson of Evanston, Ill., Richard McPherson of Lewistown, Stacey Carrigan of Havre and Don McPherson of Boise, Idaho; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and by his sisters, Ann McLain of Havre, Keva Symes of Hot Springs and Elena Clontz of Havre. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. At his request, a memorial will be held at his home in Pinnacle, in the spring, with burial in Highland Cemetery in Havre.
