LIBBY — Jackie Mee scored a game-high 25 points and Jaime Gilden added 14 as the Libby Loggers held off Glacier 55-44 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Mee, a 6-foot-1 senior all-state standout who scored 41 points against Anaconda last weekend, went six of seven from the free throw line and had three 3-pointers against the Wolfpack.

Libby (2-1) fought off a third-quarter rally by Glacier and went into the fourth quarter with a 44-36 lead. From there, the Loggers held the Wolfpack (1-3) to eight points and finished 10-of-17 overall from the free throw line.

“We battled with them very well, and down the stretch we got a little lead and then we kind of extended it a little bit,” Libby head coach Jim May said.

Glacier senior Brooke Watkins made five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points and junior Rachel Cutler chipped in nine points.

Logan Best and Alysha Martin each added five points for Libby.

“Tonight we executed a little better,” May said. “Hopefully if we can continue to improve and play good competition like Glacier, it will bode well for us down the stretch.”

Libby heads to Flathead on Saturday for a 6 p.m. nonconference game. Glacier hosts Great Falls at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
