After backing his white pickup truck over a neighbor’s tree, then driving into their yard and spinning brodies, a man was arrested by Flathead County sheriff’s deputies on charges of criminal mischief.

A dog is on the lam after allegedly biting a horse in Columbia Falls. There are no witnesses, but the owners suspect their neighbors.

A man’s dreams of a cold one turned cold after the 20-year-old male was stopped while trying to steal a can of beer from an Evergreen supermarket.

A man was walking on the concrete median of U.S. 2, reportedly weaving in and out of traffic. Deputies responded and he went home.

Following a prank phone call from a boy saying his grandmother was dead, a concerned citizen called the woman, only to find she is very much alive. The boy’s school is handling the matter.

A snowmobile chase ended without injury when a man stopped pursuing his female neighbor near Farm-to-Market Road. No word on what ignited the chase or what halted it.

 A woman frustrated with receiving phantom phone calls reported the matter to deputies Wednesday. She said someone had been calling about once a day, then hanging up when she answered. The number she gave to authorities didn’t work when they tried to call. The matter is under investigation.

After seeing a juvenile male breaking into a car, the owner of the car was able to detain the teen until deputies arrived.

A bus slid sideways, blocking traffic along Lower Valley Road around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported and the bus was shortly on its way.

A man was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with a possible head injury following a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning.

Leaving his old phone behind, a man stole a newer model from a store on U.S. 93. Kalispell police are investigating. 

Glacier High School students were surely relieved to discover that Thursday morning’s unscheduled fire alarm was due to a malfunction with their heating system and not anything serious.

A woman assaulted by another woman at a residence on Ninth Avenue West was advised to fill out a statement when sober.

Several counterfeit bills turned up at a grocery store along First Avenue East.

A neighbor reported hearing cries and shouts of profanity from across the street along Sixth Avenue West. The responding officer learned it was only a verbal argument and was able to counsel and separate the pair.

After refusing to leave a bar on U.S. 93 and fighting with a keno runner, a woman was arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing an officer.

Someone allegedly used a crow bar to smash a window out of a black Chevy truck in the parking lot of a building off Main Street.

A dog allegedly keeps coming into a store on U.S. 93 and fighting with other dogs. Officers picked up the animal and took it to a shelter.

An unknown man was apparently seen pushing a bike through a downtown parking lot, yelling racial slurs to no one. Officers were unable to locate him.

Whitefish police

After his car slid off Lakeshore Drive soon after midnight Wednesday, a 60-year-old man was arrested by Whitefish police for driving under the influence.

Officers received 29 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

Around 3:30 Thursday, Columbia Falls police arrested two males, aged 16 and 17, for shoplifting pop from a grocery store.

Officers received 23 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
