Single-car rollover blocks traffic

Flathead County sheriff

Traffic in the westbound lane was blocked for less than an hour Sunday afternoon after a single vehicle rollover on U.S. 2 northwest of Kalispell near mile marker 168. The Buick Lacrosse was found upside down in a ditch, but passengers refused medical attention at the scene, according to Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies didn’t remove the three to five horses reported in the road near Badger Hollow Trail because the area is considered open range.

A pit bull reportedly attacked a neighbor’s dog near Alpine Drive. Deputies are investigating.

Kids reportedly threw rocks at passersby near the school in the West Evergreen area, but took off running around 6 p.m. Friday.

Deputies removed an intoxicated man from a train near West Glacier Friday evening.

Someone was reportedly riding a snowmobile up and down the street and through yards in the Collier Lane area Friday.

A man was reportedly assaulting a woman at a residence on Terrace Drive, but he had left by the time deputies arrived. The matter is under investigation.

A woman called to say her ex-boyfriend was harassing her at a local bar Friday night. No charges were filed.

Two trucks reportedly drag-racing along Airport Road were gone by the time deputies arrived.

A man found sound asleep in a vehicle parked along Kuhns Drive was woken up and given a ride home around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

An unknown person stole a utility trailer with a 200-gallon diesel tank that had been parked along Church Drive.

Big Mountain Search and Rescue were able to locate a lost snowmobiler. The driver was OK and got out in less than two hours.

A black and white bulldog was reportedly running through traffic along U.S. 93 near Happy Valley.

Deputies received 158 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Kalispell police

Believing someone broke into his mailbox on Seventh Avenue West and opened mail addressed to his fiancee, a man called Kalispell police, who counseled him.

An elderly man on a three-wheeled bike was reportedly driving it into oncoming traffic along Main Street Friday.

A woman received an unnerving call from her son, who reported that a man had come to the door on Greatview Drive asking for “Steve,” and then tried, unsuccessfully, to grab him and rip him from the home. Police are investigating. 

Money was stolen from a gym locker on Sunnyview Lane. Police are investigating.

Late Friday night in a downtown sports bar, a man was followed to the bathroom by another man, who reportedly blocked the door and threatened to “shoot his eyes out.” Officers are investigating.

Fireworks were reportedly set off in the backyard of a house along Second Street East. The residents were counseled.

Unknown persons reportedly turned on the faucet in the side yard of a residence on Fifth Avenue West. It ran for at least 10 minutes, and water ran into the basement.

A man and a woman seen circling the block of Second Avenue East North soon after midnight Friday were reportedly just looking for a party.

Officers are investigating an incident where a man and two women tried to pawn a gun similar to one that had been reported stolen.

Officers received 74 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 45-year-old Whitefish woman for driving under the influence soon after midnight along Wisconsin Avenue.

A 26-year-old Whitefish woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license around 3:30 a.m. Saturday near the viaduct.

A few more cars were broken into, this time along Park Avenue. At least two of the vehicles were unlocked, and at least two others had broken windows.

Officers received 42 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police are investigating a fight that occurred at the high school Friday afternoon.

Police are also investigating a report of a built-in stove and dishwasher stolen from a residence.

Officers received 19 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
