EUREKA — The Eureka Lions’ comeback was too little, too late on Tuesday.

Sophomore Ryan Holder scored a game-high 21 points and Eureka nearly made up a 13-point deficit but came up short in their final 7-B basketball game before the holiday break.

“We started out real slow and turned over the ball more than we should have,” Eureka third-year coach Chad Dunn said. “Late in the third we decided to play a little harder, and we tried our best at the end but just didn’t have enough to come back from that.”

The Lions (1-4) trailed 25-13 at half. Bryton Gutenberg added seven points for Eureka, which returns to action on Jan. 2 in Libby.
