Kalispell police
A woman said a man had been threatening her with a baseball bat near the pumps of a gas station on West Idaho Street. The man reportedly got into a car and followed the woman as she drove away. Kalispell Police later arrested the man, identified as Leon Kavis, on charges of assault on a minor, assault with a weapon and probation violation.
Two men driving a silver car were reportedly casing a business, then tried to climb a fertilizer tower near a gas station on Fourth Avenue East North. They were chased away.
Two women, who appeared to be between 18 and 20 years old, were approaching customers in the parking lot of a gas station off U.S. 2 and asking them to purchase alcohol. The incident was logged for information.
Mall security reported chasing four or five young men down an alley between First Avenue West and Second Avenue West. They allegedly stole items off a holiday display. Police are investigating.
Three men trying to enter a hotel on North Main were told to move along. They were not hotel guests.
A black Chevy truck was stolen sometime during the night from a residence along Two Mile Drive.
Employees of a concrete and gravel company called police after they got to work and noticed that the front of the building looked like it had been smashed into by a vehicle. Police are looking into the incident.

Flathead County sheriff
According to a report to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, a man riding a bike through the parking lot of a box store on U.S. 2 was reportedly approaching customers and asking for money to buy methamphetamine and heroin. He was observed by some people who were trying to give away puppies near the shopping center. The man later rode away without incident.
A large Labrador retriever that was accidentally caught in a coyote trap near Florence Acres Way for a few hours Monday afternoon is OK, according to deputies.
A woman was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with a possible head injury following a vehicle accident near the intersection of Western Drive and Sunnyside Drive.
During an ongoing neighbor dispute, a dog allegedly pinned a boy against a fence near Mountain Drive. When his parent reportedly maced the dog, it ran away. According to statements the parent made to authorities, the dog was menacing the boy, but hadn’t bitten him. The dog is secured to its owner’s porch and deputies are contacting the dog’s owner.
After seeing two women walking along Montana 35 wearing skimpy clothing, a motorist notified authorities to make sure they were OK.
A woman was reportedly drinking and smoking marijuana while driving a white Ford Taurus along U.S. 2 with a child in the car. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
A woman was reportedly calling a man repeatedly and waking him and his children. About half an hour later, she went to the residence. She finally left, and the complaint was canceled.
On Big Mountain, a skier reportedly saw a single skier’s tracks going into an avalanche area out of bounds. Whitefish Mountain Resort ski patrol is handling the incident.

Columbia Falls Police also had no major incidents, receiving 18 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
