C.F. Council to hear update on new park
The Daily Inter Lake
Tonight, the Columbia Falls City Council will get an overview of the work that has been done this winter on plans for developing River's Edge Park.
A committee of community and council members have been working up proposals on the best ways to use the 28 acres the city bought from Kenneth and Carole Bell in August 2007. Their report is the first presentation on the council's regular meeting agenda tonight.
The council also will hold a public hearing on revisions to the preliminary plat for Moose Crossing, a 15-lot subdivision on the North Fork Road. Council members will take comment on eliminating public access to the housing subdivision's common area and permitting a road slope greater than 8 percent.
Second and final reading is scheduled for changes to a city law that would allow exemptions for public, religious and school signs, grandfathering them in and allowing them to exceed size limits imposed elsewhere.
A midyear budget review also is scheduled, and City Manager Bill Shaw is planning to give a report on impact fees.
The council also will consider four appointments - Laura Bell for a three-year term on the Columbia Falls Tree Board and Nick Mendoza, John Crose and Carmen Ramirez as reserve police officers.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
