Basketball roundup: Smith, Topp, Hashley all net 13 points for Cougars

BIGFORK - Thirteen was the lucky number for Stillwater Christian School's varsity girls basketball team on Tuesday.

Abby Smith, Dana Topp and Linnea Hashley scored 13 points each to lead the Cougars to a 51-44 victory over the Bigfork JV.

Topp hit two 3-point goals and was the team's assist leader with three.

Smith pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.

Stillwater outscored Bigfork 18-8 in the final frame to pull it out.

"This was a hard fought game with many lead changes," Stillwater coach Denise Topp said.

"It is an amazing thing for any coach to have three girls as the top scorers."

Taylor Peck, 14 points, and Quinci Paine, 11 points, were the offensive leaders for Bigfork.

Stillwater, 15-1, hosts Flathead Valley Home School on Friday, 5:30 p.m., in an MCAA West conference game.

Bigfork JV boys down Stillwater

Travis Knoll scored 18 points and Kyle Parker 17 as the Bigfork JV defeated Stillwater Christian School's varsity 74-62 on Tuesday in boys nonconference basketball play at Stillwater Christian.

Bigfork, which led 33-31 at the intermission, had four double figure scorers. Ben Sandry and Christian Ker both tallied 10 points.

Stillwater, 8-11 overall, was led by Josh LeGassey's 28 points.

Stillwater hosts Flathead Valley Home School on Friday at 7 p.m. The winner claims the Montana Christian Athletic Association West regular-season title and secures the conference's No. 1 seed for the state tournament Feb. 19-21 in Helena.
