Kalispell police
Kalispell police received a report Wednesday of 11 new stop signs being stolen from posts, mostly on the east side of town.
A person called to report that more than 100 prescription drug pills had been stolen from a vehicle at an unknown location. The man asked for a report to be forwarded to a doctor, but was advised that he had to come in and speak with an officer personally.
A young woman, 19, was arrested on suspicion of stealing beer from a grocery store on East Idaho late Tuesday.
A man reportedly ran into a hotel on First Avenue East, saying that a man had just threatened him with a gun in a car outside the hotel. A suspect could not be located.
A reported stolen vehicle was located with keys inside on Summit Ridge Drive.
There was also a report of cash being stolen from a home on Summit Ridge Drive.
A man was arrested outside the Kalispell Regional Medical Center on Wednesday morning after allegedly attempting to steal wheelchair parts. He was arrested on three outstanding local warrants.
Flathead County sheriff
The Flathead County Sheriff's Office received a report about people who had been renting a cabin at a motel on Montana 35; allegedly, they left without paying for their stay, and took some furniture along the way.
Deputies responded to a disturbance Tuesday on Reserve Drive in which a man was served with a pending temporary restraining order on the spot.
A .12 gauge shotgun was reported stolen from a residence on Trumble Creek Road.
A man who had been drinking reportedly hit another person in the face at an establishment on Montana 206.
A resident on First Avenue in Hungry Horse reported witnessing two men attempting to enter a neighbor's home. There was a large dog inside the house, however, and the two people ran from the scene.
There were 256 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Columbia Falls police
Columbia Falls police got a report Wednesday of possible elderly abuse by fraud, which is now under investigation.
There were 32 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Whitefish police
After a traffic stop at U.S. 93 and Montana 40, Whitefish police arrested a man, 24, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and having no insurance.
On Wednesday, a man, 27, was arrested at the police station on suspicion of fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs.
Another man, 28, was arrested at the police station on suspicion of partner/family member assault and negligent-endangerment charges.
Alarms
West Valley Fire Department responded to a fire early Wednesday morning in which a garage was fully engulfed in flames on West Valley Acres Road. Assisting were the Evergreen and Smith Valley fire departments.
