Stillwater Christian School's varsity had a couple of chances at the end, but the Missoula Big Sky sophomores held on for a 57-54 boys basketball victory Tuesday evening at Stillwater Christian School.
Down three points with 18 seconds left, SCS got a steal and missed a layup.
After Big Sky turned it over, SCS had the ball back with six seconds left.
"We worked for a good 3-point shot for Logan Ward," Stillwater coach Dana Hashley said.
"He's hit several game winners for us this year, at least two."
This one was close, but went in-and-out to end it.
The game was tied at least twice in the fourth quarter.
"I thought it was gonna be a long night," Hashley said after Big Sky bolted to an 11-0 start.
However, Stillwater, 8-13 overall, regrouped and trailed by just six, 17-11, and seven points , 32-25, after the first two quarter stops.
The Cougars had a big 19-point third quarter to trail 45-44 going into the final eight minutes of play.
Jeremy Curtis and Trevor Holladay were the scoring leaders for Stillwater with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
