Kalispell police
A 56-year-old man was taken to the hospital Monday with non-life-threatening injuries after a van southbound in the 2100 block of U.S. 93 South crossed into oncoming traffic and collided nearly head-on with his pickup truck. The man, who was traveling northbound, was stopped in a left-hand turn lane at about 12:45 p.m. when the crash occurred. A woman stopped in the turn lane behind the man also was involved in the wreck but not seriously injured. The 18-year-old driver of the van, who told Kalispell police he may have fallen asleep behind the wheel, was cited for careless driving.

A person house-sitting for a Fourth Avenue East resident walked in to find an acquaintance of the upstairs neighbor in the home, specifically the bed.

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to Church Drive after a resident noticed the valves on six empty fertilizer tanks had been opened. It is unknown if any fertilizer went missing, but the residue can be used to make methamphetamine.

The Somers Fire Department was called to the Lakeside post office after someone smelled what they thought was a burning wire.
The ALERT helicopter responded to Blacktail Mountain after a 14-year-old suffered a leg injury. In an unrelated call on the same mountain, a person with chest pain was taken to the hospital via private vehicle.
