LaDonna Sue 'Suzy' Shaw, 58

| February 18, 2009 1:00 AM

LaDonna Sue "Suzy" Shaw passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, in Chewelah, Wash., after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born May 14, 1950, to Gary and Lucille Daugherty while en route to the hospital in Tacoma, Wash.

LaDonna married Ben Shaw in April 1968 and settled in Rochester, Wash. They had four daughters together, Stephanie, Kellie, Elesa and Kristen. LaDonna lost Ben to an accident in 1978 and thereafter devoted herself to loving and raising her girls. LaDonna's greatest love of all was her family.

She also had a love of history and traveling. Her love of traveling eventually led her to Kalispell in the '80s. There she met Randy Britt, and together with his family, they spent the next 22 years together. She came from a large family, and we all will miss her presence with us.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alan; and grandson, Cody.

She is survived by Randy; her brothers, Lonnie Daugherty and wife, Tressa, of Rochester, Gary Daugherty of Tenino, Wash., and Scott Daugherty of Olympia, Wash.; her sisters and spouses, Toni and Richard Hanson of Lacey, Wash., and Connie and Charlie Flanagan of Lacey; her daughters, Stephanie Shaw of Longview, Wash., Kellie Berta of Columbia Falls, Elesa and Robbie Laeger of Kalispell, and Kristen Bennet of Chehalis, Wash.; and also a part of our family, Randy's daughter and her husband, Fawn and Jerry Leaming of Kila, and Randy's son, Mickey and Angela Britt of Kalispell; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Cassidy, Morgan, Ashton and Ben; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, 1890 Hwy. 93 N., Kalispell, proceeding afterward to Glacier Memorial Gardens for a graveside prayer.
