Bulldogs streak to 12th win

WHITEFISH - Whitefish clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming divisional boys basketball tournament on Thursday by beating Ronan 69-47.
Whitefish finished the regular season with an 8-2 mark in Northwestern A play, 14-4 overall. The Bulldogs have won 12 straight games.
"The third quarter, we came out really getting after it and on fire," Whitefish coach Eric Stang said.
"Aaron Tkachyk hit two 3s and a layup for the first eight points of the quarter."
Tkachyk finished with 10 points in the period and 20 for the game.
Teammate Colt Idol led all scorers with 22.
"A good group of seniors (Tkachyk, Idol, Marc Hotzfield, Josh Backer, Alex Elespuru, Matt Whitehead and David FauntLeRoy)," Stang said of the seven honored before the game.
"This was their last time playing on the floor tonight. They did a great job representing the high school and community during their careers here. They went out on a good note."
Idol led WHS in rebounding with eight. Backer was next with seven.
Tkachyk also had three blocks and three steals, and Whitehead four assists.
The divisional tournament will take place at Glacier High School next week starting Thursday.
