Two people who reportedly stole a car in Cut Bank got the vehicle stuck in Essex, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office reported. They left it and stole a pickup, in which the pair made it to Ritzville, Wash., before nearly T-boning a state trooper's vehicle. The pickup's owner was in Texas and unaware his vehicle was missing. The truck's topper is still unaccounted for.

A caller complained that an employee at a garage had tried to pick a fight with him earlier that day.

While looking for the source of two shots from a high-powered rifle, a Hungry Horse resident found two men who said they had discharged their weapons into a snow bank.

A man allegedly threatened the guy who was accused of molesting his daughter.

It was the third time in a week the man had been caught shoplifting, so he went to jail.

A caller reported her prescription medication had been stolen.

After allegedly finding a joint outside his brother-in-law's bedroom, a man threw a fit and threw the brother-in-law's clothes outside. Deputies gave the newly evicted man a ride.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police arrested a girl, 17, at a high school on suspicion of being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Mailboxes were destroyed on Fifth Avenue West.

While checking out a recently evicted tenant's suite, the landlord reportedly found several stolen items.

A man in nothing but his skivvies pounded on a door on Pintail Court. Residents thought he might have been assaulted. He was taken to the emergency room, and his disruptive behavior - including allegedly spitting on an officer - landed him in jail. He was ticketed with assault and obstruction of justice.

A tire was punctured on Liberty Street.

A girl's passport, Social Security card, student ID cards, driver's license and $300 cash were swiped from an unlocked car somewhere in the city.

When she heard something in the garage, a woman suspected it was her husband, against whom she has a restraining order. No one was there the first time she checked, but when she heard noises again a couple of hours later, officers found her husband. He was arrested for violating the restraining order.

Employees are suspected of stealing $50 from a restaurant in the mall.

Officers received 78 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a woman, 19, on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old woman midafternoon Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A mountain lion was spotted near Mountain Harbor.

Officers received 49 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a woman on suspicion of her second DUI.

Officers received 33 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
