Doris Christofferson Rambo, 82
Doris Christofferson Rambo, 82, "entered into eternal rest" Feb. 26, 2009, on the farm west of Shelby with her family by her side. At her request, no services will take place at this time. Cremation has taken place, and a gathering of family and friends will take place at the Zell Farm on Sunday, May 10. Whitted Funeral Chapel is caring for the family.
Doris Jean Christofferson was born May 10, 1926, in Sidney, to Chris and Murl Christofferson.
Doris married John Wesley "Jack" Rambo on Nov. 2, 1942, in Sandpoint, Idaho. They moved to Kevin in 1943. She had a son, Allen S. Rambo, and daughter, Wanda Rambo Zell.
Doris worked as deputy assessor at the Toole County Courthouse for a number of years. She and longtime friend, Phyllis Dumon, purchased the Weight Watchers franchise in the early '70s, which they established a headquarters for in Great Falls.
She retired in 1982 to Kingman, Ariz., and summered in Coram.
Doris is survived by her son, Allen, and Judy Rambo of Spokane; daughter, Wanda, and Hank Rambo Zell of Shelby; brother, John, and Marlene Christofferson of Oroville, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Gwenn Rambo Lee, of Kalispell. Grandchildren include Jay and Donna Rambo of Spokane, Jill and Dave Rambo Lindquist of Mesa, Ariz., John and Leigh Zell of Shelby, and Shannan and Joe Zell Bogner of Kalispell. She had 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
