Ian Hineman, 17

Ian Hineman, 17, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, in Kalispell. He was born on Oct. 31, 1991, in Tucson, Ariz., the son of Scott Joseph and Jane Lou (Miller) Hineman.

He attended schools at Cayuse Prairie, through the eighth and ninth grades at Kalispell Junior High, and was currently a junior at Flathead High School.

He has been an active golfer since he was very young and had been a member of Buffalo Hill Country Club since he was 5 years old. He was a member of the Flathead High School golf team and lettered as both a sophomore and a junior.

He also was an active downhill skier, loved movies and was quite a movie critic. He was a pool shark as well and would take on anyone.

He enjoyed traveling and had been all over the country; New York City, where he and his family had been to the World Trade Center one month before 9/11. They also enjoyed trips to Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and many other family trips.

He loved fine dining and was a big fan of the escargot at Whitefish Country Club and said it was the best!

As well as being a member of Buffalo Hill Country Club, he was also a member of the Whitefish Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herman Miller; and paternal grandfather, Norman J. Hineman.

He is survived by his parents, Scott and Jane Hineman, of Kalispell; and his brother, Ben Hineman, of Whitefish; his grandmothers, Eva Jean Miller of Ripley, W.Va., and Lori Hineman of Indianapolis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Funeral services for Ian will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, in the Flathead High School auditorium. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the high school.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Flathead High School golf team, 644 Fourth Ave. W., Kalispell, MT 59901.
