Basketball roundup: Martin, Loggers roll past Eureka

EUREKA - Eureka held high-scoring Jackie Mee to 11 points, but Brittany Martin tossed in 16 to pick up the slack for Libby, who rolled to a 50-30 nonconference girls basketball victory Friday night.

Martin had two 3s in the first half and added another in the second.

Libby outscored Eureka 13-4 in the second quarter to break open the tight game and to lead at the half 20-10.

Mariah Newell had 14 points and nine rebounds for Eureka (1-3).

HAMILTON - Ashley Albert tallied 16 points and Misha Trotter 15 as Hamilton crushed Polson in nonconference play.

Trotter also led in steals with six.

Davey paced Polson with seven points.

EUREKA - Libby jumped out to a 23-4 first-quarter lead and rolled from there in the nonconference matchup.

Libby's Conner Benson led all scorers with 22 points. Teammates Joel Fuller added 12 and TJ Benson finished with 10.

Marcus Pluid tallied 12 points for Eureka.
