Flathead County Search and Rescue

Flathead County Search and Rescue went looking for four missing snowboarders Saturday night on Big Mountain.

They reportedly left the ski run at about 3 p.m., Search and Rescue coordinator Jordan White said. The team started looking for them at about 5:30 p.m.

Searchers thought the snowboarders were somewhere in Hellroaring Basin, White said. The search team packed in snowshoes for the snowboarders to wear, and expected to hike out at the bottom of the basin, he said.

Kalispell police

A caller was concerned about the water that appeared to be shooting from the roof of a building on Financial Drive. There was no need to worry; it was snow spewing from a snowblower, Kalispell police reported.

A fence was knocked down on Airport Road.

A purse was swiped from an unlocked vehicle on Pheasant Run.

Someone confessed to internal theft at a store on U.S. 93 North.

The man who left a grocery store deli without paying for his dinner ate it in the parking lot before leaving.

Police counseled a man and his former fiancee, who reportedly calls and harasses him at work.

The woman with the box of shivering puppies left the store where she was trying to give them away before police arrived.

Officers received 67 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Flathead County sheriff

Neighbors asked Flathead County sheriff's deputies to intervene in their snow battle on Scarborough Avenue. Each claims the other is dumping snow on his property. A similar complaint was lodged on West Evergreen Drive.

Someone complained about a pickup pulling youths on a sled on Smith Lake Road.

There is a suspect in a theft at a Columbia Falls residence.

A caller was upset when a backhoe reportedly knocked down trees while trying to get out of the ditch on West Cottonwood Drive.

A man shoplifted two boxes of condoms from a store on U.S. 2 East.

Motel owners reported a freezing bird outside their business. An injured bird was reported on Cedar Drive.

A horse hit by a vehicle on Swan River Road got up and ran away.

Intoxicated pedestrians were given rides on Montana 82 and U.S. 2.

A caller asked deputies to prevent her intoxicated neighbor from letting himself into her house.

A woman reportedly raised a ruckus at a towing company over her impounded vehicle.

A caller's grandfather is missing two guns. The caller suspects an uncle stole them.

Someone broke into a Bigfork church, possibly seeking shelter. Nothing was missing.

Deputies received 163 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a man, 19, on suspicion of shoplifting at a sporting goods store.

Officers arrested two people from Wyoming on warrants for contempt of court for failure to pay fines.

Officers received 39 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 9 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
