A Kalispell man has been convicted of running down road signs and hitting two other vehicles while driving recklessly on U.S. 93 South.

Joseph Michael Crowell, 29, pleaded guilty to criminal endangerment and criminal mischief, both felonies, during a change-of-plea hearing Thursday in Flathead County District Court.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, Crowell was arrested in late March after running one vehicle off the road and rear-ending another at an intersection near U.S. 93 South and Montana 82, sending two people to the hospital.

Crowell, who initially called law enforcement to report that he had attempted to steal granite from a Lakeside restaurant, testified Thursday he had been smoking marijuana that day.
