Police continue to investigate a Tuesday afternoon collision between a school bus and a student on a bicycle exiting Kalispell Middle School.

No citations have been issued, according to the Kalispell Police Department.

Officers responded to the intersection of North Meridian Road and Parkway Drive about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 14-year-old boy and the bus collided.

The bus driver, 65-year-old Kathryn Lynn, told investigators she stopped to make sure the boy had not been hurt and then continued with her route.

The boy and several other students had been climbing up a snow embankment on the side of the road when the collision occurred, she said.

The boy was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with no apparent injury.

The school district is assisting authorities in testing the bus driver, who is contracted through Treasure State Transit, for drugs or alcohol, per standard procedure, according to district officials. The children on the bus were transferred to other buses and taken home.
