Flathead County sheriff's deputies, Highway Patrol troopers, and medical personnel responded to U.S. 93 near Rocky Cliff Road after a herd of 15 to 20 head of cattle tried to cross the highway, causing several collisions. Seven head of cattle died and at least three vehicles were wrecked. No one was seriously injured.

A woman in a Toyota Camry suspiciously pulled up to a West Cottonwood Drive residence, got out, got back in, and then moved her car. Deputies responded and ended up arresting her on suspicion of DUI and driving on a suspended license.

In a similar but unrelated complaint on Montana 35, a man and woman showed up, got out, then left but came back. Deputies were asked to conduct extra patrols in the area.

People were driving down Helena Flats Road beating up mailboxes. A mailbox on East Evergreen Drive also was destroyed.

A Big Mountain Road man told deputies he suspects his ex-girlfriend stole his cat. She denied any knowledge of the alleged theft.

Someone stole a 1997 white Nissan Sentra from a residence on Stoner Creek Road.

Threats were reportedly leveled against a Harmony Court resident.

In separate incidents, deputies responded to U.S. 2 east of Columbia Falls and South Hilltop Road to remove trespassers.

Deputies received 128 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of family member assault after he allegedly pushed his mother outside a building on First Avenue West. He reportedly didn't want to go to the dentist.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on two city warrants for traffic offenses while investigating a fraud complaint.

A man told police his brother was using his identity.

During a traffic stop on Center Street, officers arrested a 32-year-old man on a Lake County warrant.

Officers responded to a motel on U.S. 93 South after an intoxicated woman called to voice her fears that a man with her would beat her up if she left.

A Farview Drive woman wanted to press trespassing charges against an unwanted man she says keeps coming around. He told police he had recently moved out and just wanted his stuff.

Officers arrested a 38-year-old man for disorderly conduct and obstructing police officers after responding to a disturbance on Hawthorne Avenue.

Officers responded to Ponderosa Street after a resident called to report a neighbor who had been acting strange all evening. The woman's son came to stay with her.

The taillights and a window on a car parked off U.S. 2 West were broken out.

Officers received 76 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of possession of alcohol after responding to a grocery store on Baker Avenue.

Officers received 49 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 22-year-old man on a contempt of court warrant after he was brought into the station by a bond agent.

Someone stole an iPod from a locker at the high school.

Officers received 21 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of a chimney fire on Twin Pines Drive.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Lakeside Quick Response Unit were paged to a Conrad Point Road residence to treat a choking victim.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Silver Leaf Drive after a woman was bitten by a spider. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
