About 2,000 people in the Flathead Valley were without Internet service for most of Tuesday.
Local CenturyTel DSL customers lost service after an equipment failure in the company's central Kalispell office, according to public relations manager Kim Valiquette. Those customers were scattered throughout the valley.
"I can't really tell you specifically where those customers are because of the way the equipment is set up," she said.
Engineers worked on the equipment most of the day. As of early Tuesday evening, Valiquette did not know when the problem would be repaired.
Only DSL customers were affected. Dial-up and wireless Internet service was not impacted.
