died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Community Medical Center in Missoula, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Kalispell, a daughter of the late Finley and Wila MacDonald Null. She and her twin sister Patty and older sister Dorothy attended Flathead County High School.

When World War II started, Peggy enlisted in the WAVES and contributed her patriotism as a Yeoman until the war ended. She met her husband, Bill Blass, during that time; they were married for 43 years until Bill's passing in 1987.  Peggy and Bill made homes in Illinois, Washington state, Guam and finally settled back in Montana at Flathead Lake in 1974.

Peggy was a fifth-generation Montanan. She shared a strong love of Flathead Lake with her longtime companion and friend, Jim Doerfler.

She is survived by her son, Buz; daughter-in-law, Elaina; daughter, Pam; son-in-law, Fred; granddaughters, Lindsey and Madison; grandson, Brandon; sister, Dorothy Fraker; and nieces and nephews.

She was a loving mother, grandma, friend and neighbor, and will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in memory of Peggy to Hilda's Room at Community Medical Center, Missoula.
