Robert Dale McMurren, 87

Robert Dale McMurren, loving husband of Irene McMurren, passed away on July 25, 2009, at 9:20 p.m. at his Bigfork ranch after a short battle with cancer.

Dale is survived by his wife, Irene McMurren; sister, Kathryn Hopp; son, Alec McMurren; daughter, Kay McMurren; and grandchildren, George, Kelly, and Matthew O'Connor, and Anna and Issac McMurren.

Dale was born in Salem, Iowa on Feb. 20, 1922, to Robert Earl and Elsie (Thompson) McMurren. His stepmother is Gladys Carlisle McMurren.

He was a veteran of World War II and a retired businessman.

He loved Montana, hunting, riding, fishing, and a quick two-step.

Dale leaves many good friends. "We wish him many happy trails."

An open graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Lonepine Cemetery in Bigfork. A farewell celebration will be scheduled at a later date.
