More than $1,300 in damage was done to construction equipment in a vacant lot off the road to the Hungry Horse Dam. A window on a dump truck was smashed, the fuel cap to an excavator went missing, and another piece of equipment was spray-painted. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies are investigating.

Two teens ripped off a newspaper vending box at a convenience store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen Tuesday morning.

A Castle View Drive resident reported receiving threatening letters from a neighbor.

A man with Georgia license plates selling power tools and generators door-to-door in Whitefish struck a resident as suspicious. It turns out the salesman was a legitimate businessman.

In an act of vandalism, someone damaged a mail box on Shadow Lane in Evergreen.

Deputies were called to beak up disturbances on First Avenue South in Hungry Horse and a church on U.S. 2.

Three dogs were spotted chasing horses on Rhodes Draw. A mountain lion was sighted in Martin City. A bear was spotted on Fifth Street in Hungry Horse. And in a separate call, a small black bear was struck and killed Tuesday morning on U.S. 93 near the Lake County line.

Deputies received 151 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police assisted the state probation and parole office in arresting a man for absconding from supervision Tuesday afternoon on Seventh Avenue West. He was taken into custody without incident.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old man with an outstanding warrant while responding to a fight at an Airport Road bar.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for trespass and disorderly conduct after he allegedly yelled and kicked at doors at a U.S. 93 South hotel.

Fog lights were taken off a car on Fourth Avenue West. A purse was stolen from a car at a Center Street mall.

People reportedly threatened to beat up a woman at a hotel on U.S. 93 South, then threatened to put a rock through the window of her boyfriend's car.

A man chased by a crowd near the intersection of South Main and Third streets wanted police to speak with the miscreants.

An intoxicated 22-year-old man allegedly started an argument at his parents Ninth Avenue West home. He was gone when officers arrived.

Officers received 80 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 22-year-old man on a warrant for theft while in the downtown area. A 55-year-old man was arrested at a Central Avenue bar on a county warrant for bad checks.

Money was reported stolen Tuesday from a residence on Ashar Avenue.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old man was arrested for urinating in public in the downtown area.

Officers received 27 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police are investigating a hit-and-run crash at a convenience store on U.S. 2. A car ran into a gas pump.

Officers received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Fourth Avenue West North and, in an earlier call, to South Main Street after people reported smelling natural gas.

The Kalispell Fire Department also responded to West Montana Street and Third Avenue West North after an intoxicated woman with medical problems was found in the middle of the street. She was not taken to the hospital.
