GREAT FALLS - Joe Pistorese pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts on Wednesday while Zach Brosten and Pat Hergesheimer added a pair of home runs as the Kalispell Lakers dismantled the Great Falls Electrics in both games of a AA American Legion twinbill at Centene Stadium.

In the opener, Pistorese worked a no-hitter into the fifth inning before giving up a pair of two-out hits. The lefty hurler shut down the side in the following two frames and Kalispell won 5-1.

Hergesheimer hit his team-leading fourth home run in the top of the fifth that made it 3-1.

The catcher Brosten added his 2-run insurance shot in the top of the seventh that sealed the score.

Brosten and Mat O'Brien finished with two RBIs apiece and Dean Stimpson added a double.

Pistorese, who also had a double in the game, hiked his record to 6-1 and continued his prolific rookie campaign that already has one no-hitter. In 60 innings this season, the 17-year-old has 92 strikeouts and has allowed only three earned runs.

The Lakers went on to win the nightcap 9-3, and have now won eight of their last 10 games. They improve to 7-2 in conference and 21-9 overall.

The Lakers jumped on top 2-1 after three innings in Game 2 before putting together a string of three straight singles in the fourth that broke the game open. Stimpson, Ben Sansaver and Mike O'Connell had three straight hits that turned into four runs with one out. Kalispell went on to score again to take a 7-1 lead and put the game out of reach.

Sansaver had two triples in the game and finished with a pair of RBIs. O'Connell finished with three RBIs and Stimpson added two.

Starter Zane Ridings made his first appearance for the Lakers and went the distance with six strikeouts and no walks. Ridings, who recently joined the team, also had an RBI in the game.

The Lakers are coming home for a 6 p.m Saturday match against the Glacier Twins (0-9 and 6-16).
