Raymond L. Simpson, 81

Raymond L. Simpson passed away peacefully May 30, 2009, at the age of 81, after a short battle with leukemia. He was born May 9, 1928, in Kalispell, to Joseph and Maude (Terrill) Simpson.

He helped build a boat and run tourist trips on Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park in the '50s.

In the early '60s he moved to Sacramento, Calif., where he worked for over 42 years as a bookkeeper and medical files clerk.

Loving husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, he was known for his rosy cheeks, beautiful smile and easy laughter.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lucy Simpson; ex-wife, Loyla Christian; son, Steven, and Bonnie Simpson; daughter, Ann Adams; stepson, Terry, and Arlene Wingfield; stepdaughter, Gail Wingfield; four grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sister-in-law, Helen Simpson; nephew, Larry, and Margie Simpson; and nieces, Kay and Tom Leary, and Linda and Brian Cloutier; as well as many additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold "Hap" Simpson.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. June 26, at the East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary in Elk Grove, Calif.
