Gladys M. Jenson, 90, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born to Knute and Ida (Hove) Rogne on June 15, 1919, in Sidney.

Gladys attended Helena Flats School in Kalispell. On Oct. 19, 1946, she married Ernest Jenson in Kalispell.

She quilted, gardened and wrote poetry. She loved sewing and making her own clothes. She also enjoyed fishing and her pets, including the farm animals.

Gladys was active in her church, her church's women's circle and Bible studies. She loved to travel and often visited Arizona, Washington state and Canada. She loved to pick huckleberries and attend her club meetings.

When Gladys was in her 70s, her family bought a car to race. While family members were visiting at her home, Gladys decided to crawl inside. The only way in was through the side window! With great effort, she was talked out of it.

Her fondest memories were of spending time with her family, family gatherings, lifelong friends, taking drives around Flathead Lake and her Sunday afternoon lunches with the ladies.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie, and her brother, Kenneth Rogne. She is survived by a niece, Judy Rogne Bible and her husband, Dale; David Rogne and his wife, Ardith; Douglas Rogne and his wife, Michele, all of Colville, Wash.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services for Gladys will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell. There is no visitation.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Gladys' family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to offer condolences and sign Gladys' guest book.
