Jeanette "Jan" Rankin Watkins, 87

Jeanette "Jan" Rankin Watkins, 87, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Brendan House in Kalispell. She was born May 9, 1922, in Kalispell to Charles and Francis Rankin.

Jan was a 1940 graduate of Flathead County High School, and a 1973 graduate with honors at Eastern Washington State College. Following graduation, Jan served 12 years of excellent special education teaching in the State of Idaho, School District No. 251.

Jan will be missed, but remembered fondly as a dear lady, a generous person and a caring friend.

Visitation for Jan will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday June 24, with a rosary being said at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
